Join the Jazz Association Singapore Orchestra (JASSO) for its much-anticipated Pinnacle Concert on 21 February 2025, 8pm at the iconic Capitol Theatre. This year’s performance holds special significance as it celebrates Singapore’s 60th year of independence (SG60) through the vibrant and diverse sounds of Singapore Jazz.

𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗝𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗢

JASSO, Singapore’s premier jazz orchestra, is renowned for its versatility, performing a repertoire that reflects the richness of the jazz genre. JASSO, formed in 2016, has performed with legends including Grammy-award singer, Carmen Bradford, Grammy-nominee, Roberta Gambarini, Tina May, Alan Barnes and many more.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿’𝘀 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

This year’s JASSO Pinnacle Concert 2025 will see JASSO performing original compositions by some of Singapore’s most accomplished jazz musicians, including:

• Jeremy Monteiro, Singapore’s “King of Swing,” a Cultural Medallion recipient known for his global performances and timeless jazz compositions.
• Weixiang Tan, a versatile pianist and composer whose works blend traditional jazz elements with modern innovation.
• Chok Kerong, a celebrated organist and composer, renowned for his soulful and imaginative creations.
• The compositions of Jeremy Monteiro, Weixiang Tan, Chok Kerong, Sean Hong Wei, Ernest Tan and others, whose compositions contribute to the vibrant and evolving soundscape of Singapore Jazz.

These compositions were created through the Jazz Association Singapore (JASS)’ “Build Your Legacy Through Jazz” Series, a commissioning program where generous donors support the creation of new works, many dedicated to loved ones or special occasions. Over 20 original pieces have been composed since the series began, and this concert will feature 15 of them, written between 2022 and 2023.
